We often hear that it is typical for companies to invest in training their employees, but when some of them decide to join other company that lacks a similar policy, they decide to do away with this practice.
Even if this line of thinking may seem initially reasonable, it is not sustainable in time. It would be necessary to implement a training policy for employees with a high rotation rate to be able to have talented employees trained with the last available tools.
This is why if we belong to an organization that aspires to be first rate, it is imperative to have employees that are trained, skilled and up to date on all the latest. This is the only way to take full advantage of all the advances and opportunities that are presented to us day in day out. In order to achieve this, it is essential to implement a clear training policy geared towards all employees.
When thinking about training, it is a common mistake for people to think that this is related to an update in technology. But this is only part of the reason for training. It is important for employees to be up to date on the latest tools in the market, the latest line of thinking, and the latest use of creativity regardless of the work environment. Likewise, it is also of significance for leaders to be trained as, without a doubt, this helps the organization grow.
When trying to justify it strictly in terms of economic growth, the return on investment in training is much greater than the money invested because the trained employee makes better decisions and helps the company make earn more money. This is why in order to avoid an employee from leaving the company, we have to implement a retention and recognition plan that constantly seduces employees, so that when having to choose what to do, they won’t choose to “move out”.
A person can lose his house, his car, but never his / her intellectual capabilities. So when an organization helps increase that capability, the future is simpler for both.
